PRE-NUTRIMET WORKSHOP (OFF-LINE) – PRO PEDIATRICIANS

Patients at risk for malnutrition should be identified early since it is a major risk factor for increased postoperative morbidity and mortality. Many patients may benefit from newer enteral formulations, such as those designed to enhance immune function (immunonutrition). There are many ways to tackle malnutrition and better prepare patients for surgery. In this Workshop, participants will be given a validated tool to identify patients who should benefit from nutritional support. The participant will learn the adoption of total parenteral nutrition followed by the extraordinary progress in parenteral and enteral feedings to treat malnutrition and improve surgical patient’s outcomes.
